Talking about neglect
27/05/2011
A lot of my photos are of neglect and decay and it may look as though that theme has made its way onto the website in the last few months, Its not entirely unfounded either but ive been beavering away on an exhibition project that has been sapping all the spare time that I have.
There has been some really positive things to come out of it though, A magazine feature coming out in June and thats just the start of it. For a look at the project and the progress, click on the link below.
Hopefully I will back updating this site before long, theres loads to go up!

There were 3 sites pencilled in for the long bank holiday. It wasnt exactly a complete success, the first site was pretty amazing from the outside, the route through the woods was quite a good find, a small path running from a public footpath and round to the back of the property, it was completely boarded up. This theme continued on to the next site, we called it a day and decided to try for a few landscape photos instead.

The final site that was pencilled in was alot more successful although this place had been trashed, it seems that we were about 5 months too late on this one. A magnificent staircase that I had seen photos from only a few months back, now the wooden carvings had gone, some of the elegance remained but still sad to look at.

These once grand interiors left neglected and exposed to the elements although photogenic in one way, are such a shame for our heritage in others. Other rooms in this place were water damaged and it looks like items had been removed or renovation was imminent as scaffolding was piled outside, the usual peeling paint and wallpaper and a very grand wood paneled entrance hall.
